In the world of high fashion, it can be all about the glamour, celebs, and outrageous prices for designer pieces from Lagerfield to Chanel to Doo Ri.  In these times though, recessionistas are learning that you need to reign in the spending budget, but that doesn’t mean that you have to give up your style.

Know the differences between the way that French women and American women approach shopping and their wardrobes?  French women do seem to have that “Je ne sais quoi,” quality about them in which they can seemingly put together an outfit and look as though they stepped off the runway.

The key is, “Less is more,” meaning do more with what you have in your closet.  You shouldn’t exactly ignore the trend of the day, but see if it fits your body shape and personal style.  If you see size zero wearing a flannel tee-shirt and vinyl leggings, and you’re a size 10, than you should assess whether that look works for you.

At the end of the day, you should feel fabulous and sexy every time you put an outfit together whether going for a coffee, a date, or into the boardroom.   Fashion is about giving you the accessories to feel your best, and THAT is something that the recession has nothing to do with.
